Dear colleagues, dear friends!
We present to your attention the peer-reviewed, scientific and practical medical journal "Questions of practical colposcopy. Genital infections".
Our goal is to unite specialists engaged in colposcopy, to present complete up-to-date and reliable information in the diagnosis and treatment of precancerous diseases of the cervix, vulva, vagina, as well as modern algorithms for the management of patients with genital infections. Papillomavirus infection is the most common of sexually transmitted infections.
The journal pays great attention to modern ideas about HPV infection, HPV-associated diseases of the female reproductive system, screening for cervical cancer. Russian and international recommendations, algorithms for the management of patients with diseases of the cervix, vulva and vagina associated with papillomavirus infection and other genital infections are presented.

PROCEDURE FOR DIRECTION, REVIEW AND
PUBLICATION OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES,
received by the journal editor
"Issues of practical colposcopy. Genital infections"

1. A reviewer who has previously agreed to cooperate with the journal receives an email with a request to review the manuscript in accordance with his scientific profile. The letter includes the following information:
- title, abstract, keywords of the manuscript;
- the date by which it is necessary to send a response to the editor about consent or refusal to review the manuscript.
2. The reviewer's consent to cooperate with the journal implies agreement with the Regulations on Reviewing, as well as with the rules and standards of editorial ethics that the journal "Issues of Practical Colposcopy" adheres to. Genital infections" in his work.
If a reviewer does not agree with certain rules adopted in the journal, please inform the editor-in-chief before the start of the review procedure.
3. Reviewing is carried out on a voluntary basis. If the manuscript corresponds to the reviewer's area of scientific interests, and he has the time and desire to complete this work, the reviewer agrees to prepare a review of the manuscript.
4. After receiving consent, the full text of the manuscript and a review template are sent to the reviewer.
5. When evaluating a manuscript, the editors ask you to evaluate the following parameters: compliance of the subject of the article with the subject of the journal; informativeness and sufficiency of the article abstract; novelty and significance of the results; validity and correctness of application of the methods used in the study; compliance of the results obtained with the goals and objectives of the study; sufficiency and completeness of citing literature on the research topic; sufficiency and justification of illustrative material and tables; correctness of the form and style of presentation of the material.
6. In conclusion, the editors ask for a recommendation (with a brief rationale):
- recommend the manuscript for publication in its presented form (without comments);
- recommend the manuscript for publication with minor (technical) corrections;
- recommend the manuscript for publication after significant revision;
- the manuscript needs additional review by another specialist;
- reject the manuscript.

7. If the review contains recommendations for correcting and finalizing the article, the executive secretary sends the author a copy of the review text with a proposal to take them into account when editing the manuscript or to refute them with reason (partially or completely), and the editorial board of the journal undertakes to send copies of the reviews to the Ministry of Education and Science Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request by the editorial office.
8. The manuscript, revised by the author in accordance with the comments received, or a letter with a reasoned refusal to correct them, is sent for review to the same reviewer who made the critical comments. Also, the author of the article has the right to contact the editors of the journal with a reasoned request to send his manuscript to another reviewer.
9. The reviewer re-evaluates the article taking into account the changes made or a reasoned refusal to eliminate them.
10. Correspondence between the author and the reviewer is conducted through the executive secretary of the editorial board.
11. The accepted period for reviewing a manuscript is no more than a month. At the request of the reviewer, this period may be extended in agreement with the editors.
12. Reviews are stored in the archives of the journal's editorial office for 5 (five) years from the moment they are signed by the reviewer.
