Annotation:
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disease and the most common cause of dementia in old age. Due to the fact that AD most often leads to dementia in old age, its timely detection and initiation of therapy in the early stages of the disease are recommended. The article presents the main methods of clinical, laboratory and instrumental diagnosis of AD in accordance with clinical recommendations for cognitive disorders in elderly and senile people. Possibilities are being discussed
selection of basic drug therapy depending on the stage of the disease and the presence of contraindications.
