Annotation:
The article provides an overview of the diagnostic features and management tactics of pregnant women with isthmic-cervical insufficiency (ICI). The main cause of abortion in the second trimester and the cause of premature birth is ICI. The frequency of this pregnancy complication is not decreasing, which necessitates further search for new methods of timely diagnosis and prevention. Studying the anatomical and histological features of the structure of the cervix will help to understand the etiopathogenesis of ICI with the aim of a differentiated approach to therapy.
