The prevalence of dizziness in the population is 17–30%. The most common causes of dizziness are diseases of the peripheral vestibular system: benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), vestibular neuronitis, Meniere's disease. Currently, the number of patients with persistent postural perceptual dizziness has increased. In older adults, the most common causes of dizziness and unsteadiness include BPPV, multisensory impairment, and cerebrovascular

pathology caused by hypertension and cerebral atherosclerosis. An important aspect for selecting effective methods of treatment and rehabilitation of patients is timely diagnosis of the causes of dizziness. The most effective is an integrated approach to the treatment and rehabilitation of diseases manifested by dizziness, including drug therapy, psychological training, exercises for stability training and rehabilitation on a stabilographic platform with biofeedback. Among drugs in patients with dizziness caused by cerebrovascular pathology, idebenone, which has antioxidant and neuroprotective functions, has shown high effectiveness.
