Annotation:

A prospective cohort study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of various contraceptive methods in postpartum women. The study included 60 women who were under observation in the clinical diagnostic department of the Federal State Budgetary Institution National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after. Academician V.I. Kulakov" within a year after delivery. All patients were divided into 3 equal groups depending on the chosen method of contraception: the method of lactational amenorrhea and interrupted sexual intercourse, the barrier method and hormonal contraception. During the observation, through face-to-face visits to an obstetrician-gynecologist and questionnaires, the percentage of unwanted pregnancies, the occurrence of side effects and allergic reactions, the general well-being of patients, the composition and quality of breast milk and other criteria were assessed. The hormonal method of contraception had an undoubted advantage.
