Sleep disturbance is defined by changes in sleep quality or duration. In both cases, cognitive dysfunction of varying degrees of severity develops. The article defines the concept of social intelligence as a separate cognitive function, provides a description of the areas of the brain involved in its implementation, and assessment methods. Disturbances in various aspects of social intelligence against the background of deprivation or changes in sleep quality are considered. An important component of this mechanism is a decrease in the inhibitory influence of the prefrontal cortex on the amygdala, leading to the predominance of the influence of the emotional component on behavior. The paper describes neurobehavioral disorders associated with sleep disorders that develop in experimental conditions and in real life. Issues of non-pharmacological and pharmacological methods for correcting disturbed sleep, as well as associated behavioral changes, are addressed.
