Annotation:

Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a rare neurological disease that manifests as a short-term episode of severe fixation and anterograde amnesia in the absence of other cognitive and neurological disorders. Despite the long-standing study, there is no common understanding of the mechanisms of development of TGA. It is believed that in most cases this disorder is caused by vascular diseases such as hippocampal ischemia and/or local impairment of cerebral venous blood flow. The article provides a description of the clinic

TGA, diagnostic criteria, principles of differential diagnosis with transient epileptic amnesia and other diseases. A description of a clinical case of TGA is given.
