Objective: to analyze the need for the use of immunomodulatory drugs in the complex treatment of diseases caused by viral, bacterial and fungal agents, to justify the choice of drugs that restore the activity of colonization resistance factors of the reproductive tract.
Basic principles and discussion. The wide prevalence of diseases caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) among the population aged 15–59 years and the pathogenetic features of HPV-associated processes are determined by the evolutionary aspects of the interaction of the virus in the “HPV - macroorganism” system and are associated with the activity of Toll-like receptors 4 and Type 9, innate immune cells - neutrophil granulocytes and macrophages, dendritic cells, T-, B-lymphocytes, NK- and stromal cells. The high frequency of lesions of the mucous membranes of the genitourinary system by fungi of the genus Candida, the presence of viral-mycotic associations and their role in the development of chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, disruption of the functional and metabolic potential of cells that implement immunobiological surveillance, justify the need for the use of immunomodulatory drugs of systemic and local action to normalize the immune system. body potential.
Conclusion. The drug Immunomax® is an acidic peptidoglycan recognized by Toll-like receptors (TLRs) of cells that implement immune surveillance in the body. Immunomax® leads to the activation of antiviral mechanisms of the immune response during HPV infection. Immunity against fungi of the genus Candida is mediated not only by the systemic defense of the host, but also to a greater extent by local protective factors of the mucous membranes. The drug Gepon® increases the body's resistance to infections caused by viruses, bacteria and fungi of the genus Candida; effective in the complex treatment of infections of the mucous membranes and skin caused by Candida fungi, in the prevention of candidiasis of the mucous membranes and skin during antibiotic therapy; reduces the intensity of inflammation (redness, swelling, itching, burning, pain) of the mucous membranes and skin, dryness of the mucous membranes.
